No Hope Without Love

Image
"We are forgotten people" said the people at the Kenya and Ethiopian borders.  This was a cry from people who had to leave their families because of severe drought and wars.  This is the very reason we have gathered; to help the victims, facing death due to natural and human-made disasters.  For the past ten years, we have devoted our lives to pass on unconditional love to a suffering world.  But even at this moment, a quarter of the world population still lives in despair.  Someone has to go and share hope with them.  As long as hope can be risen in their souls and spirits, shared love itself is the very power that transforms their despair to hope.....President Lee Yong Ju, Team & Team International

YWAM Kona - Where the Son Always Shines!

Image
I am always excited to teach at YWAM!  Originally an acronym for 'Youth With a Mission', this 'evangelistic organization' has grown to include all ages of believers.  I was invited by friends, Bob and Carolyn Hopkins to join them in teaching at a Crossroads 'DTS', another acronym for Discipleship Training School.  However, there is nothing abbreviated about the training, the mentorship, the camraderie or the opportunity to serve the local and internaitonal community!  And an added bonus at the Kona Base is to enjoy the sounds, the smells, the sights, and the tastes  of the Hawaiian Islands in an incredibly peaceful environment.

I Feel His Pleasure!

Image
Seoul Korea –Gang-Nam & Bun-Dang BEDTS-Evening School Eric Liddel (1902 – 1945) was a Scottish athlete, rugby union internal and missionary. He was the winner of the Men’s 400 metres at the 1924 summer Olympics held in Paris. He was portrayed in the film, Chariots of Fire. Born in China, Eric returned there as a missionary in later life. “I believe God made me for a purpose, but he also made me fast. And when I run I feel His pleasure.” Quoting Eric Liddell (Chariots of Fire) I believe God also made you and me for a purpose. Healed from terminal illness in the prime of my life, I love to share my testimony of how Jesus healed me and I love to pray for the sick to be healed. And when I pray for healing, I feel His pleasure!

'The Pursuit' in Medicine Hat!

Image
Medicine Hat is a city with a population of 60,000 located in the south-eastern part of the province of Alberta, Canada and situated on the South Saskatchewan River. Its major claim to fame is Rudyard Kipling’s famous line “all hell for a basement” referring to the vast reserves of natural gas beneath it. It’s unusual name “Medicine Hat” is the English translation of ‘Saamis’ the Blackfoot word for the eagle tail feather headdress worn by Medicine Men. This particular ‘Medicine Hat’ finds its origins from Aboriginal legends about a battle long ago between the Blackfoot and the Cree Indian tribes in which a retreating “Medicine Man” lost his Headdress in the South Saskatchewan River.

Expecting the Unexpected!

Image
I boarded the very familiar noon flight to Seoul on February 24th, well rested after a short holiday in Mexico. The twelve hour flight affords a lot of uninterrupted time to pray and ask for words of encouragement and wisdom for the Korean Churches. Over the last five years of ministry in the nation, I have come to expect the unexpected in all things – venue, schedule, itinerary, food, accommodation but most of all, how Holy Spirit will manifest the works of Jesus. This trip was no exception.

God is on the Move in Ghana!

Image
Ghana had been on my heart since my first visit in 2009, and I was pleased to receive an invitation from Rick and Donna Whitcomb to return to Ghana in January of 2010. I was also looking forward to meeting Prince, a handsome young 11 year old who we have recently introduced into our family. I was excited to bring with me my grandson’s very special soccer ball as well as an Olympic ‘Believe’ t-shirt and cap – some simple gifts for this young man who has had so much to overcome in his short lifetime.

Signs and Wonders

Image
Many believers are sensing that there will be a significant increase in signs and wonders over the next year and I can certainly confirm that. I love it when Holy Spirit manifests the love of Jesus through the miraculous and have seen repentance, salvation, deliverance, healing, and recommitment whenever this happens. Heb 2:3-4: This salvation, which was first announced by the Lord, was confirmed to us by those who heard him. God also testified to it by signs, wonders and various miracles, and gifts of the Holy Spirit distributed according to his will.
