Breakout in Kona

Image
Located on the tropical slopes of the sleepy village of Kona is the sprawling YWAM University of the Nations. Overlooking the beautiful sparkling waters of Kona Bay, the setting is second to none! And so naturally I was excited to return here (especially in November!) to teach at the Crossroads Discipleship Training School (CDTS) alongside long time friends, Carolyn and Bob Hopkins. This multicultural/non-denominational school is geared towards those from 23 to 80+ who want to go further in their walk with Jesus and are prepared to give six months to training, discipleship and an outreach to Asia.

September in Daejon

Image
This was my second visit to Daejeon, the fifth largest city of South Korea. Located in the centre of the nation, it is a gateway to three southern Provinces as well as a transportation hub in South Korea. As a city of science and technology, Daejeon is home to Daedeok Science Town, one of the highest-ranking science towns in Asia. The city is also home to Daedeok Valley, or “the Silicon Valley of Korea.”

New Horizons in McMinnville!

Image
McMinnville, Oregon, one time home of the late healing evangelist T.L. Osborne and more recently, New Horizons Church was our destination. Our relationship with the New horizons Church community began over fifteen years ago, and our friendship with Pastors Galen and Danette has continued to grow over the years. We were very excited to be invited to minister in their beautiful new facility, and spend time with some of the team members there who we have come to love and appreciate over the years.

Out of Africa

Image
The republic of Ghana is country in West Africa bordering the Ivory Coast to the west, Burkina Faso to the north, Togo to the east and the Gulf of Guinea to the south. The word Ghana means warrior king. Ghana (previously known as the Gold Coast) was the first African nation to achieve independence from the United Kingdom in 1957. The climate is tropical and Accra, the capital, extremely hot and humid. Ghana is well endowed with natural resources including gold, timer, cocoa, diamond, bauxite and manganese, although poverty is evident everywhere. Nonetheless, Ghana remains one of the more economically sound countries in all of Africa. Accra, a city with a population of 2,096,653 is the largest city as well as the capital of Ghana.

Prophetic Insight for 2008

Image
I am sensing that 2008 is going to be a year of shaking and burning – although this sounds depressing, it is all good! God is calling the church back to her roots, back to the main and the plain, back to the basics. Back to her foundations. Many foundations are faulty, many foundations are being built on flesh rather than on the foundation which is Christ. The church has to be built on the Rock, not on personalities or flare. The Lord is calling his church back to her roots, back to the basics. The church will become boot camp for the basics. A time to re-dig the ancient wells, a time to follow ancient paths. When He calls the church back to her roots, that means He will start with us individually and this will manifest in the corporate church. He is going micro to affect the macro.

Having a Blast in Beijing!

Image
Beijing, a metropolis in northern China is the capital of the People’s Republic of China. It was formerly known in English as Peking. Beijing is China’s third largest city in terms of population (15.3 million people in 2005), after Chongqing and Shanghai. It is a major transportation hub, with dozens of railways, roads and expressways passing through the city. It is also the focal point of many international flights to China. Beijing is recognized as the political, educational and cultural center of the People’s Republic of China, while Shanghai and Hong Kong predominate in economic fields. Beijing is one of the Four Great Ancient Capitals of China and will host the 2008 Summer Olympics.

The Healing Wave

Image
In 2001 I had an open vision of a huge Tsunami type wave coming towards the land. I was standing on a sandy beach, looking up at the wave as it was moving inland with enormous power. I knew that once the wave hit land, everything in it’s path would be wiped out, including me. Fear gripped me and unable to move I watched as it came closer and closer. Suddenly, it stopped – held back as if by the hand of the Lord. It began to gain even more height and power, the top of the wave being swept by the wind and cresting with powerful foam. While the wave was steadily increasing in size and power, it did not advance towards the land. Then suddenly across this wave stretching across the horizon from the left to the right appeared the word HEALING in large white neon letters. It was an incredibly beautiful vista and one I will never forget. The electric white neon letters against the azure waves, the power of movement and the promise of healing yet to come.
