September in Daejon

This was my second visit to Daejeon, the fifth largest city of South Korea. Located in the centre of the nation, it is a gateway to three southern Provinces as well as a transportation hub in South Korea. As a city of science and technology, Daejeon is home to Daedeok Science Town, one of the highest-ranking science towns in Asia. The city is also home to Daedeok Valley, or “the Silicon Valley of Korea.”

My first stop was at Do Hwa Methodist Church, large community pastored by Pastor An. Pastor An ministers in a strong anointing in his home church and travels extensively in Korea, ministering in other churches. This was my second visit to this church, and I was excited to have a team of intern pastors dressed in traditional ministry clothes, to assist with catching as the Presence of Holy Spirit was very strong during the meetings. Many healings were taking place and documented by several of the administrative staff for accuracy. An 82 year old man and a disabled woman were both suffering from extreme hunched backs – one doubled over and the other a 90% bend – both backs were totally straightened and the individuals able to walk without pain! Another man who was suffering from a broken shoulder following a car accident was scheduled for surgery to return movement and reduce pain. Following prayer, his arm and shoulder moved freely without pain! Other pains from all sort of phenomena left including migraines, arthritic knees, torn ligaments, back injuries, carpal tunnel, nasal catarrh, rotary cuff, TMJ and chronic cough was reported totally gone! Symptoms of emphysema spontaneously disappeared along with nodes in the throat, and while the healings were taking place, many experienced oil coming out of the palms of their hands, and gold powder all over their hands and arms and faces. No one wanted to leave!

My next stop was to attend the Annual Retreat for the Pastors of the Korea Methodist Church. Expecting to do some teaching on the Ministry of Holy Spirit, I was surprised and a little intimidated to be speaking to these highly educated men as well as the Bishop over the denomination! However, after soaking in His Presence, I knew that Holy Spirit had a message of love for these devoted men and purpose in my being here and I was simply to listen and obey!

It was both an honour and pleasure to pray for so many brand new believers over the three days!
1 Cor 1:17 For Christ did not send me to baptize, but to preach the gospel, not with words of human wisdom, lest the cross of Christ be emptied of its power.NIV
Tucked away in a forested hillside and overlooking a beautiful lake, this retreat center has been a place of rest and restoration for over 60 years. Built of massive stone, tile roofs, large rooms, and massive windows, the setting was perfect for meetings, meals and overnight accommodation.  Three hundred and fifty Pastors attended the retreat over a 3 day period. With ample opportunities to preach and minister, Holy Spirit fell at every meeting to meet the hunger and thirst of the attending Pastors. Many were touched by Holy Spirit in a new and significant way manifested by gold dust, oil on the hands, tongues, falling over, and deliverance and many more were physically healed.  In discussion with the Bishop, he explained that he represented over 550 churches in the District and he was in awe of the incredible times of ministry we experienced together. As we parted the question on everyone’s lips was, “how do we sustain this anointing ?”

My final stop was a long overdue return visit to All Nations Church, a community lead by Pastor Jak, is a very focused and energetic man who welcomed our time together. With an very strong gift of evangelism, Pastor Jak is developing a basic boot camp for new Christians which is quite appropriately named D.N.A.! Deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) is a nucleic acid that contains the genetic instructions used in the development and functioning of all known living organisms. Isn’t that really what happens as we receive Christ into our lives? We become new creatures, with instructions for living imparted into our very molecular structure!

1st Peter 1:23-24 For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and enduring word of God. NIV
