A Faith Check-Up

Image
When I am not traveling, it has become my habit to prepare the morning coffee for Jan so that we can start the day sipping our favourite beverage and sharing deep conversations!  This morning was no different - another beautiful fall day in the Okanagan and our conversation led us a topic we were both mediating on - (as so often happens).  Maintaining faith during the heaviest of seasons.

Fully Alive in Christ - Part 1

Image
Like a butterfly our spiritual journey begins the moment we are conceived in the mind of God,  (egg) and continues on as make our entry into into this world as babes (larvae - feeding and growth stage).  Through the next years, we becomes familiar with the world system and longing for something more (pupa).  And at rebirth (caterpillar) we are revealed as beautiful new creatures in Christ. And our spiritual journey continues as we continue on a path to become fully alive in Christ!  We know that the journey will be always before us, challenging, and God lead!

Dropping Our Nets

Have you ever been talking with someone and in their conversation you hear a word or phrase  that really resonates in your spirit? That happened recently when Jan  and I were having coffee with long time friend Ralph Bromley.  He used the phrase “dropping your nets” and immediately I knew that the Lord was wanting to show me something in the scriptures.

Thoughts on Turning 65!

On wrinkles: I am getting very comfortable with the ever increasing lines on my face. Like circles on the core of a tree, they not only reveal the number of years I have lived, but the intensity with which I have lived them. Deeply etched smile lines remind me that love and laughter have been a huge part of my life. I would like to think that the deep ridge between my eyes is from years of squinting in the sun, but alas, I admit, I have also been a worrier! I do wonder why so many in Hollywood go to such great extremes to erase such a canvas of memories!
