Behold I Am Doing a New Thing!

“See the former things have taken place, and the new things I declare; before they spring into being I announce them to you” Isaiah 42:9
Gold dust and oil appeared on this woman's hands!
Throughout the course of history, there have been many times and seasons when God allows His Bride to experience manifestations of His Glory in a mind boggling way!  How unfortunate that now, in our present day, we have become critical and suspicious of things of the Spirit that we cannot fathom with our un-renewed minds.

“Therefore I urge you brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God – this is your spiritual act of worship.  Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.  Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is - His good, pleasing and perfect will”.  Romans 12: 1  - 2

Of course we have to weigh and test all that we experience and embrace, but as we are transformed by the renewing of our minds we can be confident we have the tools we need when it comes to discerning what is flesh and what is of the Spirit.

The season we are in now may be new to us, but not to God. The Kingdom of God is ever advancing and even the gates of Hell will not stop it!

“And I tell you that you are Peter and on this rock I will build my church and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.”  Matthew 16:18
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday today and forever, however he does change the manner in which He does business. Remember Moses and the situation of needing water in the desert?

“I will stand there before you by the rock at Horeb.  Strike the rock and water will come out of it for the people to drink.  So Moses did this in the sight of the Elders of Israel.”  Exodus 17:6

Years later, once again the Israelites needed water. God once again directed Moses to a rock and said, “Do not strike the rock but speak to the rock and you will have your water.”  Moses wanted to obey God but perhaps didn’t have the faith to believe that water would come out of the rock, simply by speaking to the rock, and so he struck it as he had done successfully the first time.  And yes water did come forth but ‘he did the new thing the old way’ and it cost him his life.  And yet, we, like Moses, often revert back to ‘what worked’ in the past in so many areas of our spiritual life!

Personally, I totally welcome these manifestations of Holy Spirit, because the sign always points us to the wonder of God. While we are not to become enamored or distracted by the signs and wonders, but rather attracted to and more in love with Jesus!

I experience many of these manifestations in my meetings around the globe, and no matter how He chooses to show Himself to the people, I am totally ‘undone’.  I love being a part of the healings and the miracles, the salvations and the gold dust, the oil and the deliverances. But far more than those things, I am deeply moved that people walk away from these meetings changed forever, having been touched in a tangible way by Jesus.  Blessed be the name of the Lord!
